Bloomberg Technology's new homepage brings all platforms to the forefront.
Bloomberg wants to get technology news to you anytime and from anywhere.
"Over the past year, we have assembled a top-notch team of technology
journalists led by Brad Stone," said Bloomberg editor in chief John
Micklethwait, announcing the news.
More than 50 tech journalists stationed all over the world (San
Francisco, New York, Seattle, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangalore,
Beijing, London, Toronto, Paris, Tel Aviv and Frankfurt) will provide
coverage "of not only what's next, but where's next."
Bloomberg Technology has also shown a 30 to 50 percent improvement in page load time thanks to a new "backbone" of the site.
By unclunking important pages and by connecting global reporters on a
multitude of platforms, this "completes our strategy of building a
portfolio of global multiplatform brands that speak directly to
different segments of this premium audience," said Bloomberg Media CEO
Justin B. Smith.
This expanded strategy means Bloomberg articles, videos and stories
will now be available in a variety of ways. There's now a "startup
barometer," which tracks the general ecosystem and any big acquisition
or IPO; live video recordings streamed on Facebook and YouTube;
Bloomberg's new narrative-driven podcast; and many more ways to reach
consumers of tech news.
Bloomberg TV is also changing the name of its San Francisco-based
afternoon news show Bloomberg West to Bloomberg Technology, effective
today. Emily Chang anchors the tech-focused program weekdays at 6 p.m.
ET.
